Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bradley Kendrick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Newton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kendrick's entrance music is Dream Theater - As I Am. A fine choice. Newton has chosen wild boy as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kendrick shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Newton's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Newton's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Newton is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Kendrick will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

You get the feeling that Newton really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Kendrick has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Kendrick cracks Newton with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Newton falls to his knees and Kendrick doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!

After the fight, Bradley Kendrick was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
