The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Josh West and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McIntyre looks to score with a jab to the body but Shain is just out of range.
Chuck McIntyre seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McIntyre misses with a series of wild punches.
McIntyre throws a head kick that misses.
A jab from McIntyre finds it's way through Shain's defenses.
Shain drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
McIntyre takes one to the side of the head.
Shain takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
McIntyre tries to clinch up but Shain circles away and keeps his distance.
Shain uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by McIntyre.

McIntyre thuds his right hand into Shain's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

McIntyre looks to land a left hand but Shain moved out of range nicely.
McIntyre throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
McIntyre blocks a jab.
Shain avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Shain shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says McIntyre as he avoids it easily.

McIntyre thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Shain if he has to take too many more of those.
Shain throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
McIntyre throws a nice inside leg kick.
Nice jab there from Shain.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Shain walks into a straight right hand from McIntyre.
Shain takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

No joy there for Shain, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

McIntyre slaps away a takedown attempt from Shain, before circling back to the center of the mat.
McIntyre throws out a loose jab but Shain uses good head movement to avoid it.

McIntyre throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Shain cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Shain takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Shain ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

McIntyre connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
McIntyre misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Shain throws a lazy right hand but McIntyre sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
A left lands for McIntyre.
McIntyre swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
McIntyre is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Shain moves out of range of the body kick.
Shain's jab looks to have found its range, popping McIntyre under the eye.

That kick from McIntyre tenderised Shain's leg. Shain is trying to keep his angry face on.
McIntyre thuds his right hand into Shain's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
McIntyre takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Shain looks for a takedown but McIntyre sprawls well.
McIntyre throws a jab but it's blocked by Shain.
McIntyre smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Shain throws a shot from downtown. McIntyre moves away and avoids it.
Shain just misses with a punch to the body.
McIntyre connects with a crisp jab.

McIntyre throws a jab but it's blocked by Shain.
Shain is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by McIntyre.
McIntyre misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Shain counters with a nice uppercut.
McIntyre fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Shain manages to avoid it.
Shain is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
McIntyre lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
It looks like M J Shain has been cut.
Shain misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for M J Shain. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Shain avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Shain. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
McIntyre throws a head kick but Shain moves out of range.
McIntyre throws a hook to the side of Shain's head but Shain sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Shain ducks down and throws a hook to the body but McIntyre moves away.
McIntyre throws a big shot that misses.
Shain on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Shain is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
McIntyre pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Shain keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Shain dives in and grabs McIntyre's left leg, looking for a takedown. McIntyre pushes down on Shain's head and hops out.
Shain takes a swing at McIntyre's ribcage but misses.

Shain misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Shain postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Shain tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Shain has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
McIntyre is looking for a sweep.
McIntyre can't do much from the bottom here.

McIntyre defending against the ground and pound.
McIntyre parries the strikes from Shain easily there. Shain is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable McIntyre to escape.
Shain in side control, throwing shots but McIntyre defends.
Shain throwing strikes but McIntyre manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Shain is looking for a sweep.
McIntyre takes a little break here. Shain wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
M J Shain has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Shain has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to M J Shain.
I think McIntyre has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
