Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, David Schapiro and Eddie Farnsworth.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gaudinot closes the distance and clinches up with Machida, looking for a takedown. Gaudinot pushes Machida against the cage but Machida circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Gaudinot is looking to clinch but Machida is avoiding it.
Machida's corner calls for a 1-2. Machida obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Gaudinot shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Machida as he jumps to the side.
Gaudinot shoots in but Machida avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Louis Gaudinot. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Machida counters with a straight right hand.

Machida fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Machida takes a swing at Gaudinot's ribcage but misses.

Gaudinot throws a nice looking combination but Machida bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Machida throws a shot from downtown. Gaudinot moves away and avoids it.
Machida displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gaudinot.

Gaudinot tries to keep at a distance but Machida has taken the fight into the clinch.

Machida gets through Gaudinot's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Gaudinot is trying to break the clinch but Machida has him pressed against the cage.
Machida lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Gaudinot or not.
Machida scores with a nice hook to the head.
Machida lands a left hand.
Machida scores with a shot to the side of Gaudinot's head.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Machida escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Gaudinot shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Machida pinned against the cage. Machida gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and Machida counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

and Machida cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Machida fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Gaudinot throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Machida was covering up waiting for the punch and Gaudinot finishes the takedown easily into guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Gaudinot lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Machida wants to stand up but Gaudinot is controlling him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gaudinot controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Gaudinot stays in close to Machida's body and controls the position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Louis Gaudinot just wasn't active enough.
Gaudinot shoots for a double leg takedown but Machida sprawls well. He's pushed Gaudinot's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Machida throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Gaudinot on the side of the head.
Machida is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Gaudinot had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Machida ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Gaudinot shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Machida sprawls well. Machida wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gaudinot gets slowly back to his feet.
The crowd cheers as Machida lands an impressive looking overhand right. Gaudinot doesn't seem phased though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Louis Gaudinot is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Horrible takedown by Gaudinot or perhaps it was just good defense by Machida which made him look bad.
Machida scores with a one two! Gaudinot had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Gaudinot has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Gaudinot there as he acknowledges the shot.

and Machida counters with a crisp right that sends Gaudinot to the canvas! Machida follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
