Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tom Brandt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rafael Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rafael Silva!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva shoots and misses

and Brandt counters with a shoot takedown. Silva fights it but they end up in guard.

Brandt cracks Silva with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Brandt has hold of Silva's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Silva manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Brandt prevents Silva from getting the reversal.
Brandt is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Silva can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Silva is working to get back to half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Brandt cracks Silva with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

After winning the bout, Tom Brandt thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
