The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Superman dives in and grabs Pepper's left leg, looking for a takedown. Pepper pushes down on Superman's head and hops out.
Pepper defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Superman.
Superman throws a right and a left that Pepper avoids nicely.

Pepper dives in and scores a takedown into Superman's guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Pepper has hold of Superman's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Superman manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Pepper goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Superman is on top in guard.
Superman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pepper swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Superman postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Pepper is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Superman, into his guard.

Superman is looking for a triangle but Pepper pushes his legs off easily.

Superman shoots in for a takedown but Pepper shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
