Coming up we have a heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Koichi Kano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Lynott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lynott has chosen Out in the Fields as his entrance music. Phil Lynott has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Koichi Kano!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Phil Lynott!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kano wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Lynott on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Kano. Kano obviously looking to wear him down.
Lynott misses with a looping left.
Kano tries to clinch up but Lynott circles away and keeps his distance.
Koichi Kano seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kano lets loose with a powerful body kick. Lynott will feel that in the morning.
Lynott takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Kano misses with a right hand
and Lynott counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.


It looks like Koichi Kano has been cut.
Kano is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Lynott.
Lynott takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Kano throws a good cross that connects.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kano just misses with a punch to the body.

Kano clinches.
Lynott dodges an elbow strike from Kano.
Nice elbow from Lynott.
Lynott wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Kano avoiding damage.
Kano trying to control the position but instead, Lynott has worked for underhooks and has pushed Kano into the ropes.
Lynott is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes.
Kano goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Lynott takes an elbow to the temple.


It looks like Phil Lynott has been cut.
Kano works on Lynott's body with a couple of short punches.
Lynott wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Kano.
Kano swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Kano pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the ropes.
Kano doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Lynott blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Lynott breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

A low kick from Kano misses
and Lynott counters with a stiff right hand.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kano ducks under a wild hook from Lynott.
A good leg kick by Kano.
Kano staying out of range there.
Kano keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Kano wants to clinch.
Kano tries to close the distance and clinch but Lynott swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Lynott throws a head kick that misses
and Kano counters with a solid body kick.
Kano misses with a body shot.
Kano wants to clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Koichi Kano dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Kano tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Lynott manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Kano smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Kano thows a body shot but no joy.
Kano digs a good body shot into Lynott's ribs.
Kano throws a body punch but Lynott moves out of range.
Kano lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Kano lands a head shot.
Kano throws a wild body kick that Lynott sees coming a mile off.
Kano lands with a straight right. Lynott didn't see that one coming.
Kano tries to clinch but Lynott is having none of it.

Lynott defending well as Kano loads up on a big left hand.
Lynott takes one to the side of the head.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Kano lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Lynott has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Lynott and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Kano here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Kano chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Lynott can pounce on him.
Kano lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Lynott backs up against the ropes.
Lynott slips a jab from Kano.
Kano misses with a leg kick.
Kano steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Lynott.

Lynott throws a leg kick that is checked
and Kano counters with a nice body kick.
Kano takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Lynott walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Kano keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Lynott moves out of range of the strikes.
Lynott misses with a wild body shot.

Kano has managed to clinch.
Kano cracks Lynott with a nice body shot.
Kano tries to throw a body punch but Lynott avoids it by throwing Kano back against the ropes.
Kano lands with a right to the head.
Kano misses with the head strike.

Lynott manages to break the clinch.
Kano lands a nice shot that snaps Lynott's head back.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Kano walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Lynott checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Kano takes a swing at Lynott's ribcage but misses.
Kano misses with a body kick.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Lynott, right into the meat.
Kano dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Kano takes a swing at Lynott's ribcage but misses.
Kano throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Lynott sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Kano tried to score with a low kick but Lynott checks it.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Kano.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Lynott. Kano shrugs it off though.
Kano tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lynott swats him away and circles back towards the center.
A combination from Kano does no damage.

Lynott on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Lynott throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Lynott moves out of range of the body kick.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Kano lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. Kano's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Lynott connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Kano scrambles back to his feet.

The fight stays on the outside here - Lynott looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Kano looks to land a right hand but Lynott moved out of range.

Lynott uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kano.
Kano slips a straight right by Lynott.
A leg kick checked by Lynott.
An inside leg kick lands from Kano.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Lynott throws a looping overhand right but Kano ducks down to avoid it.
Kano shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Kano instigates a clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lynott is trying to break free.
Kano is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Lynott throws an elbow that misses.
Kano lands a nice knee to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but Koichi Kano did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Kano.
Kano connects with a crisp jab.
Kano misses with a hook.
Kano takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Kano fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Lynott has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Kano tries to clinch but Lynott moves out of range.
Lynott dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Kano. That did some damage!
Kano thows a left - swing and a miss!
Kano moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Kano lands a head shot.
Lynott avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kano tries to close the distance and clinch but Lynott swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

and Lynott counters with a nice leg kick.
Lynott misses with a straight left.
Kano is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Kano connects with the punch.
Kano fails with an attempt to clinch.
Lynott bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Kano's head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Kano misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kano lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Kano works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Lynott lands with a right hand.


Koichi Kano's cut is getting worse.
Lynott scores with a jab to the body.
It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.
Kano looks for the body kick but Lynott saw that one coming.
Kano drops his guard momentarily, allowing Lynott to crack him with a picture perfect lead left hook! Boom! Down goes Kano! Oh, he's in big trouble - I don't like his chances here as the referee's count reaches 5. 6,7,8,9...10! He's out! Lynott takes it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 4, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Phil Lynott!
Phil Lynott gave a mention to TFP Graphics - Pit Inc in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
