Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Henrik Sigurdsson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Firefly oz!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Johanna Lukiainen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Sigurdsson throws a half hearted mid kick.
Sigurdsson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Sigurdsson misses with a jab to the body
and oz counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Nice takedown defense from oz. No joy for Sigurdsson on that attempt.
That kick from Sigurdsson tenderised oz's leg. oz is trying to keep his angry face on.

oz lands with a hook. Sigurdsson tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

oz moves out of range of the leg kick from Sigurdsson.

and oz counters with a nice uppercut.
Sigurdsson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but oz avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Henrik Sigurdsson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sigurdsson throws a head kick but oz moves out of range.

oz bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Sigurdsson's head backwards.

Sigurdsson attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

oz lands a slapping body shot.
Sigurdsson tries a low kick but oz avoids it.
Sigurdsson wants to slow oz down by chopping away at his legs.
Sigurdsson shoots in looking for a takedown. oz tries to sprawl out of it but Sigurdsson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. oz manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Nice shot lands for oz.

Sigurdsson slips a jab from oz.
Nice defenses there by Sigurdsson.
A punch lands to the side of Sigurdsson 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Sigurdsson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Firefly oz will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Sigurdsson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Sigurdsson moves away from the strike by oz.

Sigurdsson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. oz manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Sigurdsson postures up in oz's guard and throws a big left but oz blocks it.
oz preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
oz not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Sigurdsson works over oz with some ground and pound from guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if oz can do anything to dispel that myth.
Sigurdsson stays in close to oz's body and controls the position.
Sigurdsson keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of oz's head.
Sigurdsson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Sigurdsson slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
The strikes coming from Sigurdsson are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
oz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sigurdsson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Sigurdsson scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at oz to see if he's OK.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sigurdsson happy to just control the position for now.

Sigurdsson is working to tighten is grip on oz's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. oz has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Sigurdsson is really squeezing tight and eventually oz passes out! Sigurdsson breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Henrik Sigurdsson!
