The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva is looking to clinch but Gil is avoiding it.
Gil keeps the fight on the outside.

Gil gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Silva to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Silva postures up in Gil's guard and throws a big left but Gil blocks it.

Silva knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gil on the ground.
Gil has momentary wrist control but Silva slips an elbow through the middle.
