Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between John Auville (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JP Flaim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flaim misses with a straight left.
Auville throws a right and a left that Flaim avoids nicely.
Flaim takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Flaim tries to bum rush Auville with a series of wild strikes but Auville uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Auville's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Auville duly obliges.
Flaim sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Flaim is trying desperately to land a takedown but Auville is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Flaim.

Flaim changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Auville tries to avoid it but Flaim manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Auville to the ground. Auville escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Auville takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Flaim shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Flaim has control of Auville's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Auville regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Flaim thows a huge punch but Auville dodges it nicely.
Flaim is nestled in close to Auville, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Flaim lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Flaim prevents Auville from standing back up.

Flaim frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Auville wants to control but Flaim is having none of it.

Auville is wriggling around trying to escape.
Flaim looking to control but Auville is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Flaim is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Flaim extends the arm and Auville is forced to tap!
