Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Steve Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stefan Roosmalen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 28 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Steve Rogers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Stefan Roosmalen!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Wagner Zegers and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roosmalen stuffs the takedown.

Rogers tries to clinch up
and Roosmalen counters with a body kick that stops Rogers in his tracks momentarily.
Roosmalen takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Roosmalen wants to land a leg kick but Rogers is out of range.
Rogers takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Roosmalen throws a front kick that sends Rogers stumbling back into the ropes.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rogers is looking for a sweep. Roosmalen is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Rogers wants to control but Roosmalen is keeping busy.
Roosmalen is nestled in close to Rogers, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Roosmalen avoids the attempt from Rogers to control.
Rogers seems to have got his legs back now.
Roosmalen has his opponent pinned against the ropes, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Rogers's face.

Roosmalen lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Roosmalen must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Roosmalen seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rogers does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Rogers wants to improve his position but Roosmalen is controlling well.
Roosmalen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rogers keeps working.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Roosmalen lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Rogers wants to control but Roosmalen is keeping busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stefan Roosmalen dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Roosmalen gets caught napping as Rogers dives in and scores a takedown. Roosmalen manages to retain guard.
Roosmalen pulls Rogers in close to his closed guard and prevents Rogers from doing any damage or advancing position.
Rogers is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Rogers throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Roosmalen works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Rogers wants to stand but Roosmalen has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Roosmalen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Roosmalen has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Roosmalen is trying to control the position but Rogers postures up.

Rogers is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Roosmalen is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Roosmalen has escaped and now he's on top!

Rogers thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Rogers is trying to keep Roosmalen in close.
Roosmalen wants to control from the top but Rogers keeps moving.

Roosmalen content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Rogers has locked up a guillotine! Rogers's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Roosmalen is holding on here and Rogers must be using up a lot of energy. Roosmalen has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Rogers gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Steve Rogers!
An intense looking Steve Rogers took to the microphone post fight and gave a little speech: 'Thanks to all the fans here tonight and online who have supported me throughout my career and to everyone at AFLC, you guys are the best!!!'.
