Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Sam Margolis and Chris Edwards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Salace or perhaps it was just good defense by Maurer which made him look bad.
Maurer lands with a slapping head kick.

It looks like Simon Salace has been cut.

Salace decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Salace thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Salace is looking to take a break and control but Maurer is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Maurer is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Salace pulls his head out easily.

Maurer working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Salace doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Salace manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Maurer is on top in guard.
Salace has momentary wrist control but Maurer slips an elbow through the middle.

Salace is really struggling to control Maurer but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Maurer stands up out of Salace's guard for a moment - Salace manages to land a nice upkick.

Salace striking off his back but it's not causing Maurer any problems.

Maurer throws an elbow that misses. Salace uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Maurer's guard. Nice move by Salace!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Salace drops back looking for a leg! Maurer is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Maurer manages to kick Salace off! Salace jumps back into Maurer's guard.
Salace connects with a couple of short punches.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Salace passes Maurer's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Maurer is not content to let Salace control the position.
Maurer slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Maurer has his foot on Salace's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Salace works his way back into a safe position though.

Salace takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Salace shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Maurer but Maurer pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Maurer is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Maurer connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

and Salace counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Maurer feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Salace's calf.
A cross from Maurer lands.
Nice uppercut lands for Maurer. That snapped Salace's head back.
Maurer throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Maurer leaves Salace with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Maurer throws out a powerful jab.
Salace takes a kick to the side of the head.
Salace shoots for a double leg takedown but Maurer sprawls well. He's pushed Salace's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Maurer tries to clinch up but Salace circles away and keeps his distance.

Maurer cracks Salace with a hook to the temple - Salace is on wobbly legs here! Maurer swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Salace falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Maurer wins by TKO!
