Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Janusz Gawrolek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Steven Brown and James Ackerman.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gawrolek darts in and clinches Silva up against the cage.
A right handed body shot lands from Gawrolek.
Gawrolek utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
Silva looks winded!
Silva has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Gawrolek avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Gawrolek has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Silva off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Gawrolek is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Silva can't fight it off and eventually Gawrolek manages to take the fight to the floor. Silva looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Gawrolek stands and steps away. Silva gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Gawrolek wants the takedown. Silva is fighting it off but Gawrolek persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Silva's guard against the cage.

Gawrolek has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Gawrolek is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Silva knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Gawrolek tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gawrolek has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Silva tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Gawrolek wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Silva wanted to stand there but Gawrolek had control of the position.
Gawrolek doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Silva postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Gawrolek is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Silva, into his guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Gawrolek connects with a nice short shot to Silva's temple.

Gawrolek is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Silva defends it well.

Janusz Gawrolek decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
