Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pavel Sherbo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Philip Traverse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Traverse comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Mr. Grieves kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pavel Sherbo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Philip Traverse!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Steve Smith and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Traverse takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Traverse has taken the fight to the clinch.
Traverse is pushing Sherbo up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Sherbo breaks from the clinch.
Traverse fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Sherbo to the ground. Traverse is now in Sherbo's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sherbo manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Traverse displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Sherbo throws out the jab.
Sherbo throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Nice takedown defense from Sherbo. No joy for Traverse on that attempt.
Sherbo lands a nice hook to Traverse's body. Traverse takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Traverse takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
It looks like Philip Traverse has been cut.
Traverse keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Sherbo.
Nice takedown defense from Sherbo. No joy for Traverse on that attempt.

Traverse is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Traverse wants to control from the top but Sherbo keeps moving.

Traverse looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Philip Traverse wasn't active enough on the ground.
The fighters circling - Sherbo throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Traverse looks to throw the jab but Sherbo is out of range.
Sherbo slips under a jab from Traverse.
Traverse checks a leg kick.
Traverse dives in and grabs Sherbo's left leg, looking for a takedown. Sherbo pushes down on Traverse's head and hops out.
Pavel Sherbo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Philip Traverse.
Traverse looks to throw the jab but Sherbo is out of range.
Traverse looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Sherbo circles away from the clinch attempt.
Sherbo cracks Traverse with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Traverse tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Sherbo pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Traverse is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Pavel Sherbo!
Our winner, Pavel Sherbo, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
