PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Phu Hsu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rocco Ricotta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hsu's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Krewella - Live for the night. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rocco Ricotta!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Chris Saunders and Colin Fray.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hsu throws a sloppy head kick and Ricotta moves out of range easily.

Ricotta fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hsu to the ground. Ricotta is now in Hsu's guard.
Hsu can't keep his opponent in guard - Ricotta advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Ricotta lands a nice short elbow.
Ricotta has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Ricotta in particular looking to stall.
Hsu is trying to control but can't.
Ricotta is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Hsu tries to control the position but Ricotta now has his back.

Hsu knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ricotta on the ground.
Ricotta biding his time, looking for the opening.

Ricotta has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Hsu! Can he survive? No! He's out! Ricotta gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
