Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jim Swanson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
19 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tauno Tasalakki!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Swanson. Those never looked like landing.
Jim Swanson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tasalakki fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Tasalakki checks a leg kick.
Swanson throws a hook but Tasalakki blocks it.
Swanson looks for the body kick but Tasalakki saw that one coming.
Tasalakki takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Swanson lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Swanson throws a body punch but Tasalakki moves out of range.
A decent looking cross lands there for Swanson.
Tasalakki fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
A big left from Swanson misses.
Tasalakki shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tasalakki moves nicely into side control.

Tasalakki thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Tasalakki is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Swanson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The referee asks Tasalakki politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Tasalakki prefers to stall for the moment though.
Swanson bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Swanson tries to close the distance and clinch but Tasalakki swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Tasalakki moves forwards but Swanson connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Tasalakki checks a low kick from Swanson.
Swanson misses with a wild body shot.
Tasalakki fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Swanson avoids it really well and circles away.
Swanson throws a body punch but Tasalakki moves out of range.
Swanson wants to land a leg kick but Tasalakki is out of range.

Swanson throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Tasalakki lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Swanson backs up against the cage.
It looks like Jim Swanson has been cut.
Swanson throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Tasalakki walks into a jab.
Swanson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Tasalakki.
Swanson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jim Swanson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Tasalakki avoids a punch combination nicely.
A low kick from Swanson is predictable there
and Tasalakki counters with a solid body kick.
Tasalakki wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Swanson takes one on the button.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Tasalakki displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Swanson throws out the jab.
Oh Swanson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Swanson misses with a few strikes there.
BOOM! Tasalakki lands a beautiful left hook that drops Swanson. Swanson tries to recover but Tasalakki is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Swanson lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
