PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nick Lawless (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dylan Faudree (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawless avoids the head kick by Faudree.
Faudree tries to clinch up but Lawless circles away and keeps his distance.
Faudree looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lawless is fending him off so far but Faudree persists. Nope, Lawless circles away and we're back to standing.
Faudree moves in looking to clinch but Lawless pushes him off.

Faudree moves into the clinch.
Faudree is working for takedown but Lawless is calmly controlling the position for now.

Faudree ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Faudree no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Lawless drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lawless jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Faudree looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Lawless is looking to stand up but Faudree won't let him.
Lawless won't allow Faudree to sweep him here.

Lawless is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Lawless postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Faudree is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Lawless, into his guard.
Faudree has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Lawless is proving hard to escape from.

Lawless pulls Faudree in to control the position.

Faudree is sitting in close to Lawless's body. Lawless has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Faudree is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Faudree is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Lawless.

Nick Lawless decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
