PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thor Macture (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Malcom McGregor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGregor slips a jab and a cross from Macture.
Some wild striking there from Macture.
Macture lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

It looks like Malcom McGregor has been cut.
Macture lands a nice hook to McGregor's body. McGregor takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Macture leaves McGregor with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jab, jab by Macture - just one landing.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Macture enables McGregor to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Macture manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
McGregor missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
McGregor is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
McGregor stands up over Macture, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Macture could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

McGregor shoots for a double leg takedown but Macture sprawls well. He's pushed McGregor's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Macture forces McGregor back against the cage and clinches.
McGregor prevents Macture from breaking the clinch.
Macture wants to break the clinch but can't.
Macture wants to break free but McGregor has control.
Macture working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Macture swings wildly with an uppercut but McGregor uses good head movement to avoid it.
McGregor has Macture pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Macture manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Thor Macture has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Malcom McGregor.

McGregor has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Macture after a bit of a struggle.

McGregor turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and McGregor manages to end up in side control.
McGregor misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Macture is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Macture knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McGregor on the ground.

Macture is covering up but some of the strikes from McGregor are getting through and doing damage.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
McGregor is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Macture. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.
McGregor has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Macture's body.
