PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Anthony Bishop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Minamoto Yoritomo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yoritomo has chosen sunlounger & zara - lost (club mix) as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bishop misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Bishop wants to clinch up but Yoritomo keeps it at a distance.
Yoritomo blocks a head kick by Bishop.

Bishop drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Bishop wants to control from the top but Yoritomo keeps moving.
Bishop wants to pass the guard but Yoritomo is keeping the position.
Bishop throwing strikes but missing.
Yoritomo is trying to control the position but Bishop postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bishop stands and throws Yoritomo's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bishop lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

Yoritomo is refusing to be controlled, as Bishop sits in half guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Bishop blocks a head kick by Yoritomo.
Yoritomo is looking to land body kicks.
Yoritomo misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Yoritomo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Bishop has taken the fight to the clinch.
Bishop keeps control of Yoritomo as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Bishop ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Bishop no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Bishop throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Yoritomo won't allow Bishop to sweep him here.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bishop is on top in guard.

Yoritomo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bishop doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Yoritomo is tightening it up a little... Bishop has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Bishop reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Bishop taps out! nice BJJ there by Yoritomo!
