The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lombardo misses with a hook

and Fom moves into the clinch.

Lombardo tries to score a body lock takedown but Fom shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Fom has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Lombardo uses from the top position.

Fom tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Lombardo swivels and escapes.
Roushimar Lombardo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fom shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lombardo sprawls well. Lombardo wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Fom gets slowly back to his feet.
Fom avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Lombardo misses with an uppercut.
Fom throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Lombardo tests Fom's chin there with a solid looking shot.

It looks like Mike Fom has been cut.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lombardo misses with a looping left.
Lombardo steps in with a hook that catches Fom right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Lombardo follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Fom looks absolutely devastated.
