The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Powell blocks a head kick by Glyde.
Powell closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Powell thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Glyde's head.
Powell is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Glyde has momentary wrist control but Powell slips an elbow through the middle.
Glyde is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Powell content to stall in guard here.
Glyde looking for a sweep. Not yet Glyde, not yet.
Glyde is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Powell frees his head nicely. Oh but Glyde has switched to an armbar! Powell is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

Owen Glyde tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
