Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Project Xyz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keith Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Donald Grub and James Ackerman.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Martin!
Xyz ducks under a wild hook from Martin.
Xyz throws a leg kick but Martin checks it.

Xyz shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Martin manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Xyz wants to control from the top but Martin keeps moving.
Martin wants to sweep here but Xyz controlling him for the moment.
Xyz trying to control the position from guard on top but Martin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Martin wants to stand and escape but Xyz is having none of it.
Martin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Xyz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Xyz tries to stand but Martin is controlling from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Project Xyz wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Xyz looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Xyz takes one to the side of the head.

Martin throws a shot from downtown. Xyz moves away and avoids it.
Martin cracks Xyz with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Keith Martin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Martin misses with a jab, cross combination.
Martin thows a left - swing and a miss!
Martin lands with a good body shot.
Martin tries to bum rush Xyz with a series of wild strikes but Xyz uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Martin connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Martin tests Xyz's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Nice uppercut lands for Martin. That snapped Xyz's head back.
Xyz takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Martin throws a jab when Xyz was well out of range.
Martin uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Martin cracks Xyz with a good jab.
Martin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Martin is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Xyz.

Xyz drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Xyz passes Martin's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Martin has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Xyz is working away from the top position though.
Martin is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Martin wants to get back to full guard.
Martin preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Xyz sitting and controlling from the half guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

We're going to have a standup here because Project Xyz wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Martin looks to land a left hand but Xyz moved out of range nicely.
A combination from Martin does no damage.
Xyz shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Martin pinned against the cage. Martin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Xyz throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Martin's waist but Martin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Xyz off to one side.
Xyz has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Xyz there as he acknowledges the shot.
Martin comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Martin cracks Xyz with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Martin scores with a hook.
Martin is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Xyz had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
This has been an exciting period of action!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Xyz tries to close the distance and clinch but Martin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Martin defending well as Xyz loads up on a big left hand.
Xyz fails to land the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Project Xyz. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Martin connects with a looping right hand.
Martin fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Xyz is breathing heavily.
Martin misses with a two punch combination.
Xyz shoots in looking for a takedown. Martin tries to sprawl out of it but Xyz keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Martin manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Martin thuds a left hand into Xyz's body.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Martin throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Martin feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Xyz sprawling to the canvas! Xyz rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Martin finish him?!

Xyz is rocked!
Martin thuds a left hand into Xyz's body.
Oh Xyz is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Xyz takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Keith Martin dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Martin throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Xyz stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Xyz seems to have got his legs back now.
Martin throws an overhand right that drops Xyz like a sack of potatoes! Martin dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
