The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shaah shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Rooney has hold of Shaah's hands but Shaah slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The fighters are battling for position here. Rooney manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Shaah trying to control the position from guard on top but Rooney is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Rooney wants to take a breather but Shaah is having none of it.

Rooney is looking to take a break and control but Shaah is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Shaah really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rooney. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Shaah wants to control but Rooney is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Shaah closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Rooney to the mat! Rooney manages to get full guard.
