Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Michael Kimmo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Piltz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kimmo comes to the cage accompanied by Roni Size-Bite The Bullet. The crowd seem to be enjoying Piltz's choice of entrance music: Don't Stop Me Now. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Michael Kimmo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mark Piltz!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Donatello Bradman and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Piltz changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kimmo tries to avoid it but Piltz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kimmo to the ground. Kimmo escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Piltz throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Kimmo lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Kimmo.

Piltz tried to score with a low kick but Kimmo checks it.

Kimmo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Piltz gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Piltz drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Kimmo dives on top into guard.

Piltz had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kimmo defends it easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kimmo got a little sloppy there for a moment and Piltz has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kimmo has managed to get both his arms back between Piltz's legs - danger averted.

Piltz bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kimmo's guard.

This has been an exciting period of action!
You can see the frustration on Piltz's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Kimmo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

That was a close second round but I would say that Michael Kimmo will probably get the nod.

Kimmo throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Piltz on the side of the head.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Kimmo.
Kimmo goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Piltz lands a jab to the head.
Kimmo fails in his attempt to clinch.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Kimmo tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Piltz avoids it.

Kimmo lands an elbow just above Piltz 's eye.

Mark Piltz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Piltz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Mark Piltz decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
Michael Kimmo was interviewed post fight and said 'It's a hard lot of fighters out here in Steel Penn. I'll be back in a ring soon enough.'.
