Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jorge Kelvin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Seth Patterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jorge Kelvin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Seth Patterson!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Ryoma Takatsuka and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kelvin lands a nice shot that snaps Patterson's head back.

Patterson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kelvin manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Patterson tries to free his leg and advance position but Kelvin is retaining full guard.
Patterson sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Kelvin is trying to keep Patterson in close.
Patterson tries to stand but Kelvin is controlling from the bottom.
Patterson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Kelvin will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Seth Patterson.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Patterson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Patterson in particular looking to stall.
Kelvin wants to control but Patterson is keeping busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jorge Kelvin will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Kelvin lands a right hook to the body.
No luck for Kelvin with that takedown attempt.
Kelvin throws a right hand that Patterson ducks under and follows up with a left that Patterson also avoids with ease.

Patterson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Patterson should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Kelvin wants a takedown.
Kelvin fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jorge Kelvin. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Patterson works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Kelvin tries to kick Patterson off in order to stand up. Patterson Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Seth Patterson has got the better of the ground game so far.
Kelvin is trying to control Patterson's posture but Patterson avoids it.
Kelvin is not content to let Patterson control the position.
Kelvin is trying to get back to his feet.
Kelvin tries to improve position but can't.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Kelvin gets back to half guard.

Patterson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kelvin defends it well.
Patterson controlling the pace.
Kelvin is not content to let Patterson control the position.
Kelvin is looking for a sweep. Patterson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Kelvin wants to get back to his feet.

Patterson is taking a breather. Kelvin says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Seth Patterson.
Kelvin ducks under a wild hook from Patterson.
Kelvin tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Patterson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Patterson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kelvin sprawls well initially but Patterson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Patterson perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Seth Patterson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Kelvin tries to clinch but Patterson moves out of range.
Kelvin fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Patterson looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Patterson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Nice takedown defense from Patterson. No joy for Kelvin on that attempt.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Patterson won't let Kelvin get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Patterson wants to take Kelvin's back here but Kelvin is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.

Patterson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Let's hope that Patterson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Kelvin is trying desperately to improve position.

Kelvin is in a bad position with Patterson working for a choke. Kelvin manages to spin nicely into guard and the danger is over for the moment.

I think Patterson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
