PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vernon Mcllin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jo Mac (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mcllin comes to the cage accompanied by 300 Brolic. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Mcllin fails in his attempt to clinch.

Mcllin darts in and clinches Mac up against the cage.
Mac wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Mcllin has him pressed against the cage.

Mcllin ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Mcllin no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Vernon Mcllin.
Mcllin misses with a takedown attempt - Mac sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Mcllin throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Mcllin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mac tries to avoid it but Mcllin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mac to the ground. Mac escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Jo Mac is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Mcllin lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mac circles away quickly and effectively.
Mcllin shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mac pinned against the cage. Mac gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vernon Mcllin. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Mcllin shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mac as he avoids it easily.

Mac gets tackled into the cage by Mcllin. Mcllin maintains the clinch.

Mcllin's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Mcllin drops Mac with a beautiful combination! Mac stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Mcllin is looking for the KO!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mcllin closes the distance and clinches.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mcllin lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Mac or not.
Mcllin tries to pull guard but Mac holds him up against the cage and eventually Mcllin drops back down to his feet.

Mcllin has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Mac avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Mcllin jumps guard and drags Mac to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Mac is looking to stand up but Mcllin won't let him.
Mac wants to stand and escape but instead Mcllin has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Mac pushes Mcllin off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

and Mac counters with a one-two to the body.
Vernon Mcllin is winning the standup battle so far.
Mcllin throws a half hearted mid kick.
Vernon Mcllin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Mcllin moves in looking to clinch but Mac pushes him off.

Mcllin moves to clinch but Mac breaks away
and Mac counters with a left and a right... and another left... and another!! That last one turned off the lights! Mcllin has no idea who he is and is as he gazes up at the spotlights. Brutal knockout!
