Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Seth Patterson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Felipe Kelvin!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Micheangelo Fripello and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kelvin scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Patterson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kelvin passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Patterson!
Patterson wants to hold on but Kelvin pushes him away.

Kelvin wants to work for an arm triangle but Patterson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Kelvin is stalling here. Patterson is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Kelvin seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Patterson has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Patterson is trying to remain composed but Kelvin is hammering down strikes to the side of his head.

Kelvin is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Patterson is defending well though. Kelvin let's go of the attempt for now.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
What can Patterson do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Felipe Kelvin dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Patterson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kelvin tries to avoid it but Patterson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kelvin to the ground. Kelvin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Patterson is looking to clinch.
Patterson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kelvin as he jumps to the side.
Kelvin fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Patterson checks it well.

Kelvin seems to be looking for submissions.
Kelvin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Patterson keeps working.
Kelvin working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Kelvin is pressing down on Patterson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Patterson is holding on for now.

Kelvin is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Patterson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kelvin.

Kelvin stands up and we're back to a striking position.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Kelvin checks a leg kick.
Patterson is looking to clinch but Kelvin is avoiding it.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kelvin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kelvin wants it to stay on the feet.

Kelvin closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Patterson quickly recovers to half guard.

Patterson is trying to stand up here but Kelvin is controlling him well.

Let's hope that Kelvin has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Kelvin has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Kelvin is trying to trip Patterson. He has hold of a leg but Patterson is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Kelvin persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Kelvin is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Patterson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

I would just about give that final round to Felipe Kelvin.
