Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between James Jorge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Vegata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jorge comes to the cage accompanied by Back in black. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, James Jorge!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Antonio Vegata!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Mauricio Rocha and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jorge keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Vegata fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Jorge looks like he's trying to stand up.

Jorge swings for the body but Vegata moves out of range.
Vegata takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Vegata scores with a jab to the jaw.
Jorge shoots in for a double leg but Vegata sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Jorge throws a one two combo.


It looks like Antonio Vegata has been cut.

letting Vegata counter with a right hand.
Good exchange - Vegata coming out on top.
A looping hook to the body misses from Jorge. Vegata does a little dance to reset his feet.
Vegata ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Vegata closes the distance and clinches up with Jorge, looking for a takedown. Vegata pushes Jorge against the cage but Jorge circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Vegata throws an overhand right that lands on Jorge's shoulder, as Jorge tries to avoid the shot.
Jorge throws the left hand but Vegata avoids the punch easily.
Jorge shoots in but no luck this time.
Jorge stuffs the takedown attempt from Vegata. Vegata gets slowly back to his feet.
Vegata avoids a punch combination nicely.
Vegata misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
James Jorge has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Antonio Vegata.

That was a close second round but I would say that James Jorge will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Vegata connects with a nice short shot to Jorge's temple.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jorge is refusing to be controlled, as Vegata sits in half guard.

Antonio Vegata comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Vegata has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
