Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sam Malone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danny Pilpipka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Malone comes to the ring accompanied by Where Everybody Knows Your Name. Pilpipka has chosen In My Mind (Axwell Mix)- Ivan Gough and Feenixpawl feat. Georgi Kay as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sam Malone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Danny Pilpipka!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Micheangelo Fripello and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pilpipka takes a jab right on the kisser.


It looks like Danny Pilpipka has been cut.
Danny Pilpipka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Malone leaves Pilpipka with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Pilpipka misses the shot to the body.

Pilpipka decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Malone wants to get back to full guard.
Malone is refusing to be controlled, as Pilpipka sits in half guard.

Pilpipka seems to be working for a kimura but Malone defends the submission attempt.
Pilpipka is looking to advance position but Malone won't allow it.

Pilpipka is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Malone has managed to free his arm - good work.

Malone gets full guard.

Malone is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Malone not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Malone has his foot on Pilpipka's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pilpipka works his way back into a safe position though.

Pilpipka sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Malone's guard.

Malone looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Pilpipka looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Pilpipka is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Malone trying to control but Pilpipka postures up.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Malone slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Malone had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Pilpipka defends it easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pilpipka passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Malone manages to work his way to half guard, despite Pilpipka's best efforts.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Malone closes this distance looking for a takedown but Pilpipka circles away.

Pilpipka is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Malone pulls his head out easily.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Malone wants to control from the top but Pilpipka keeps moving.

Malone tries to free his leg and advance position but Pilpipka is retaining full guard.
Sam Malone overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Pilpipka looking for a sweep. Not yet Pilpipka, not yet.
Malone scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Pilpipka is breathing heavily.
Malone chips away with some ground and pound.
Malone is working Pilpipka over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Malone cracks Pilpipka with a solid left hand.
Malone controlling from the top position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Malone loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Malone stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pilpipka swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Pilpipka had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Malone defends it easily.

Malone got a little sloppy there for a moment and Pilpipka has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Malone has managed to get both his arms back between Pilpipka's legs - danger averted.
Malone has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Malone chips away with some ground and pound.
Malone cracks Pilpipka with a solid left hand.

Pilpipka looking for a guillotine here but Malone defends easily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Malone's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Pilpipka throws a big shot that misses.
Pilpipka tries to close the distance and clinch but Malone swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Pilpipka misses with a lunging right hand

and Malone counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Malone maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Pilpipka could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Malone has cracked it and Pilpipka is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Malone!
