PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Timoteo Belo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Greg Dellaria (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Timoteo Belo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Greg Dellaria!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Micheangelo Fripello and Josh West.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Dellaria jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Belo walks away with a smile on his face. Dellaria gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Belo drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Belo scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Dellaria manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Belo manages to get himself to full guard.
Belo wants to sweep but no luck.

Belo is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Dellaria is aware though and is defending well.
Dellaria trying to control the position from guard on top but Belo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Dellaria throwing strikes from guard but Belo blocks nicely.
Dellaria loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Dellaria throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Belo works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Belo will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Dellaria chips away with some ground and pound.
Dellaria with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Dellaria drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Belo dives on top into guard.

Dellaria has Belo pulled in close to control his posture.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dellaria lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Belo!

Belo is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Dellaria unloads with some shots from mount but Belo bucks and avoids them well.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Belo is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Dellaria cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Dellaria clinches up against the ropes.

Dellaria breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Belo goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Dellaria lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Belo can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Dellaria and Belo drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Dellaria.
