Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sid Savage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rusty Griswold (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Savage comes into the arena with the scatman blaring out of the sound system. Griswold has chosen Hooking Up The Lights as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Mauricio Rocha and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Savage keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Griswold closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
It looks like Rusty Griswold has been cut.
Griswold has a takedown stuffed.
Savage connects with a right hand. Griswold shakes it off.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Griswold enables Savage to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Griswold manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Savage stands up over Griswold, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Savage wants to lay and pray for a moment but Griswold keeps working.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Savage connects with a nice short shot to Griswold's temple.

Savage is looking to take a break and control but Griswold is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Savage not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Savage wants to take a breather but Griswold is having none of it.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Griswold is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Savage's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Savage's back!
Griswold is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Savage knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Savage for a finish.
Griswold is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Savage scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Griswold doesn't seem bothered though.

Griswold takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Griswold fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Savage avoids it really well and circles away.

Sid Savage has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rusty Griswold.
Savage smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Savage fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Griswold looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Griswold is breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Savage is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Griswold gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Savage gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
