Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
24 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Sean Ripgut!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
16 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dirk Blaylock!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Jeff Smith and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ripgut shoots for a takedown but Blaylock saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Ripgut is trying hard to land a takedown here. Blaylock sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Blaylock misses with a left hand
and Ripgut makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Blaylock lands a big shot that drops Ripgut! Can he finish him?
It looks like Sean Ripgut has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ripgut pulls Blaylock in to control the position.
Blaylock trying to control the position from guard on top but Ripgut is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Blaylock throws a big right hand that misses.
Blaylock throws a big elbow that misses.
Ripgut is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Blaylock controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Ripgut fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sean Ripgut. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round.
A looping hook to the body misses from Blaylock. Ripgut does a little dance to reset his feet.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Ripgut. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Blaylock throws the left hand but Ripgut avoids the punch easily.
Ripgut moves out of range as Blaylock strikes.
Blaylock drops Ripgut with a big left hand and mounts him. Ripgut is in big trouble!
Ripgut is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Blaylock lands a heavy shot. That's hurt Ripgut! Blaylock sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless Ripgut and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!
