The crowd seem to be enjoying Jones's choice of entrance music: Lacuna Coil - Without Fear. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Curtis Jones!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Ryoma Takatsuka and Chris Saunders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matae takes a swing at Jones's ribcage but misses.
Jones tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Matae manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Matae throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Matae misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Matae connects with a looping right hand.
Jones lands a head shot.
Jones swings for the body but Matae moves out of range.
Matae connects with a body shot.
Jones misses with a straight right.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jones tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Matae misses with a body shot.
The fight stays on the outside here - Jones looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Matae ducks under a wild hook from Jones.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Jones.
Jones blocks a leg kick.
Matae scores with a hook.
Matae throws a hook to the side of Jones's head but Jones sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Jones throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Matae.

It looks like Yokida Matae has been cut.
Matae throws a body punch but Jones moves out of range.
Matae misses with a right hand
and Jones counters with a nice low kick that buckles Matae's knee momentarily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Jones lands a lovely overhand right.
Matae doesn't manage to clinch there - Jones circles away.
Jones on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

Jones tries to land a leg kick but Matae saw it coming and moves away.

and Matae counters with an outside leg kick.
Matae gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Jones tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Matae was well out of range. Poor timing from Jones.

Matae drives through and clinches with Jones against the cage.
A short uppercut from Matae.
Jones blocks a body shot from Matae.
Matae can't find room to land a body shot as Jones controls the action.
Matae works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Jones tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Matae.
Jones tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Matae's elbow.
Matae lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Matae lands with a left to the head.
Jones has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Matae swings away with an uppercut that misses.
A left hand lands to the body for Matae.

Matae breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Matae looks to score with a jab to the body but Jones is just out of range.
Matae connects with a high kick.
Donk. Matae catches Jones right on the button with a cross.
Matae is looking to wear down Jones with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Matae circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Jones tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Matae wins by KO!
