Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Michael Martin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paulo Carioca!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Felipe Paraventi and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Martin instigates a clinch.
Martin goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Carioca is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Martin breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Martin lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Carioca keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Martin.
A big right from Martin misses.

Carioca moves into the clinch.
Martin is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Martin wants to break the clinch but can't.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Carioca putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Martin in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.

Martin thuds his right hand into Carioca's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Carioca moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Martin throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

and Martin counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Martin misses with a hook
and Martin takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Carioca tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Martin scores with a jab to the head.
Carioca slips a jab from Martin.
Carioca misses with a straight right.
Carioca uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Martin.

Martin dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Carioca. That did some damage!
Martin throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Martin misses with a looping right.

Martin takes the fight into the clinch.
Martin doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Carioca keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Martin's efforts to push away.
Martin tries to break the clinch but Carioca is controlling the position.

It looks like Michael Martin has been cut.

Martin is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Martin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Carioca moves away.
Martin throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Martin moves out of range of the body kick.
Martin lands a glancing blow to the side of Carioca's head.
Carioca misses with a leg kick.
Michael Martin is winning the standup battle so far.
Martin throws a lazy uppercut

and Carioca holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Martin managing to block the knees to the body from Carioca.
Martin tries to circle away but Carioca has him pinned against the cage.
Carioca throws an elbow that misses.
Carioca tries a body shot but Martin blocks it.
Carioca connects with a nasty looking knee right to Martin's face.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Martin can't break the clinch.
Carioca using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Martin has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Carioca is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Martin is keeping busy.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Carioca cracks Martin with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Carioca feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Martins jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Martin's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Martin duly obliges.
Martin throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Martin tries to clinch but Carioca moves out of range.
Martin cracks Carioca with a good jab.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Carioca's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Martin connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Carioca scrambles back to his feet.
Paulo Carioca is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Carioca fails with an attempt to clinch.
Martin misses with a left hand
and Carioca counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Carioca throws a head kick that Martin semi-blocks.


Martin is rocked!
Carioca seems to be stalking Martin here. He circles momentarily and then unleashes a devastatic head kick! Martin drops like a stone, out cold! WOW! Are you kidding me!? What a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Paulo Carioca!
Paulo Carioca decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
