The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonzales jabs Pickard right on the nose. Pickard blinks but takes it well.
Pickard takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Pickard walks into a stiff left hand from Gonzales.
Gonzales lands a lovely overhand right.
Gonzales moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Gonzales punishes Pickard's body with a nice straight punch.
Gonzales scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.

and Pickard decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Gonzales's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Pickard pushes down on Gonzales's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Pickard is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Gonzales sees it coming and defends easily.
Pickard tries to pass the half guard into mount. Gonzales knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Pickard takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Pickard looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Gonzales is trying to stand up here but Pickard is controlling him well.

Gonzales knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pickard on the ground.
