PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Charlie Daniels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fraz Dexter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dexter has chosen Grandmaster Flash as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Fraz Dexter will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Charlie Daniels!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fraz Dexter!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, David Schapiro and Dean Styles.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dexter fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Dexter throws a looping overhand right but Daniels ducks down to avoid it.
Dexter shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Daniels defends it nicely.
Daniels walks into a stiff left hand from Dexter.
Dexter looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Daniels is fending him off so far but Dexter persists. Nope, Daniels circles away and we're back to standing.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Dexter.
Dexter tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Dexter lands with a good body shot.
Dexter lands a right hook to the body.
Dexter changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Daniels tries to avoid it but Dexter manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Daniels to the ground. Daniels escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Charlie Daniels has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fraz Dexter.
Dexter shoots in looking for a takedown but Daniels manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Dexter's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Daniels counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Dexter's guard now.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Daniels scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Daniels stopping the sweep attempt from Dexter.
Daniels working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Daniels is working Dexter over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Daniels accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Dexter has momentary wrist control but Daniels slips an elbow through the middle.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dexter not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Daniels is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Dexter is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Daniels rolls with it to try and escape but Dexter cranks on the arm and Daniels is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
