Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Aman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Timo Takka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aman kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is We Believe. Takka has chosen Kavinsky - Nightcall as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, John Aman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Timo Takka !

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aman scores with a jab. Takka acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Takka throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Aman on the side of the head.
Takka misses with a body kick.
Aman avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Aman throws a half hearted mid kick.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Takka checks a leg kick.
A bone on bone clash there as Aman blocks the leg kick.
Aman jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Aman fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Takka manages to avoid it.
Takka connects with a looping right hand.
Aman tries to move into range but Takka moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Takka moves out of range of the body kick from Aman.
A jab from Aman misses.
That kick from Aman tenderised Takka 's leg. Takka is trying to keep his angry face on.
Takka 's jab looks to have found its range, popping Aman under the eye.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Takka connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Timo Takka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Takka fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Aman is out of range.
Aman fails with an attempt to clinch.
Aman misses with an uppercut. Takka saw that one coming.

Aman stuffs the takedown attempt from Takka . Takka gets slowly back to his feet.
Aman ducks right into an uppercut from Takka .
Takka gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Aman with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Aman throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Takka frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Aman keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Takka can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Aman is looking to escape.
Takka has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Takka throwing strikes here but Aman is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Takka prevents Aman from getting the reversal.
Aman wants to hold on but Takka pushes him away.
Aman is trying to escape the mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Takka cracks Aman with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Takka misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Takka avoids the attempt from Aman to control.
Takka lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Takka scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Takka trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Takka is landing with some decent strikes but Aman is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Takka lands a big elbow.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Takka is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Takka lands a couple of good shots and Aman has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

Takka looking to break Aman's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Aman remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Takka will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Aman is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Takka gets his way!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Aman displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Takka throws out the jab.
Aman walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Takka checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Aman steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Takka .
Takka has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Aman throws a leg kick which misses Takka 's front leg but catches the back leg as Takka tries to avoid it.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Aman.
Takka bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Aman's head backwards.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Aman tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Takka manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Aman lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Aman throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Aman is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Aman is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Aman is keen to just control but Takka is a slippery customer.

Aman is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Takka has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Takka is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

This has been an exciting period of action!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Aman can't control as he wanted to and Takka manages to get the fight back to his half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that John Aman will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Takka changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Aman tries to avoid it but Takka manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Aman to the ground. Aman escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Takka counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Aman lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Takka !

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Takka is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Aman pulls his head out easily.

Aman looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The fighters are battling for position here. Takka manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Aman is stalling in the full guard.

Aman wants to control from the top but Takka keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up because John Aman just wasn't active enough.
Takka moves out of range of the body kick.
Aman scores with a decent looking hook.
Takka works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Crunch! Takka slams his shin into Aman's torso.
Takka goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Takka 's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to John Aman.
I think Aman has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
