Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Basit Ali (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shawn Gonzales (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Basit Ali could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Shawn Gonzales's chin.

The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ali closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Gonzales's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Ali is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Ali throws a big right hand that misses.
Ali has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Ali trying to move into half guard but instead Gonzales has managed to sweep!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ali is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Ali bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gonzales's guard.
Ali controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Ali tries to free his leg and advance position but Gonzales is retaining full guard.
Ali wants to control from the top but Gonzales keeps moving.

Gonzales really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ali. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

We're going to have a standup here because Basit Ali wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Gonzales drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Ali gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Gonzales changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Ali fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Basit Ali has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shawn Gonzales.

Ali is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gonzales defends it well.

Ali tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Gonzales manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Gonzales shoots in looking for a takedown but Ali manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gonzales's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Gonzales takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Ali is trying hard to land a takedown here. Gonzales sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Horrible takedown by Ali or perhaps it was just good defense by Gonzales which made him look bad.
Gonzales keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Gonzales shoots in for a double leg but Ali sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Ali doesn't manage to clinch there - Gonzales circles away.

Ali shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Gonzales is trying to defend but Ali finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Ali maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Gonzales could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Ali has cracked it and Gonzales is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Ali!
