The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Dagger feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Dagger passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Malu is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
The ground and pound from Dagger seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dagger scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Malu to see if he's OK.
Dagger is looking to take a break and control but Malu is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Dagger tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Dagger is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Malu will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Dagger is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Malu is trying to escape and Dagger transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Malu is forced to tap! Nice work there by Dagger! Very nice indeed!
