Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Giorgio Valentino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shinichi Fuujin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fuujin has chosen 変化を通過 as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 6 - 1, fighting out of New York, Giorgio Valentino!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 33 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Shinichi Fuujin!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Russell Pearce and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valentino throws a right and a left that both miss.
Valentino throws a sloppy body shot

and Fuujin counters with a shoot takedown. Valentino fights it but they end up in guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Fuujin is fighting to break Valentino's control of his arms but Valentino is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Fuujin wants to control from the top but Valentino keeps moving.
Valentino is trying to keep Fuujin in close.
Fuujin missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Valentino looking to hit a scissor sweep but Fuujin is one step ahead there.
Fuujin throws an elbow that misses. Valentino uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Fuujin's guard. Nice move by Valentino!

Fuujin working for submissions but it's allowed Valentino to get to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fuujin looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Valentino pushes past his half guard into mount!

Valentino really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That kick from Valentino tenderised Fuujin's leg. Fuujin is trying to keep his angry face on.

Valentino ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Fuujin moves away.

and Fuujin counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Valentino!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Fuujin is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Valentino is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

You can see the frustration on Valentino's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Fuujin scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Valentino to see if he's OK.
Valentino regains half guard there - taking advantage of Fuujin's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

Fuujin slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Fuujin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Valentino swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Fuujin is looking to advance position but Valentino has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shinichi Fuujin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!


Valentino throws a head kick but Fuujin moves out of range.
Fuujin moves away from the strike by Valentino.

Valentino ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Fuujin moves away.
Valentino feints and then cracks Fuujin's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Fuujin down.

Fuujin is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

Fuujin trying to control the position from guard on top but Valentino is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Valentino has control of Fuujin's left arm, preventing Fuujin from doing any damage.
Valentino is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Shinichi Fuujin has got the better of the ground game so far.

Fuujin avoids a kick to the body.

Valentino throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Fuujin connects with a solid leg kick.
Giorgio Valentino seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Valentino lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Fuujin uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Valentino.

Valentino throws a hook to the side of Fuujin's head but Fuujin sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Fuujin thuds his shin into the meat of Valentino's side.
Valentino's corner calls for a 1-2. Valentino obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

and Fuujin counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Valentino's guard now.
