Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Barry Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oswaldo Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sanchez comes into a darkened arena with his song building. In The Ghetto - By Elvis Presley kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Oswaldo Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Allen. Sanchez does a little dance to reset his feet.
Allen lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
The fighters circling - Allen throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Allen throws a lazy uppercut

and Sanchez counters with a takedown into side control.
Sanchez is looking to take a break and control but Allen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Sanchez takes a little break here. Allen wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Allen is looking to reverse the position.

Sanchez is working Allen over with some ground and pound from side control.
Allen manages to work his way to half guard, despite Sanchez's best efforts.

Barry Allen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sanchez throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

and Sanchez counters with a shoot takedown. Allen fights it but they end up in guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Allen avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Sanchez closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Allen's guard.

Sanchez seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Oswaldo Sanchez hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Sanchez lands a right hook to the body.
Allen connects with a leg kick. Sanchez looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Allen fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sanchez moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Sanchez.

Allen lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Sanchez backwards.

Allen tries to work over Sanchez's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
