PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between William Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jericho Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wallace comes to the cage accompanied by Braveheart. The crowd seem to be enjoying Williams's choice of entrance music: Infinite Mass - Bullet. William Wallace could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Jericho Williams's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, William Wallace!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jericho Williams!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Wallace if he has to take too many more of those.
Williams tries a head kick but it misses.
Williams swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Wallace takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Williams swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Wallace counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Williams thinking.
Williams pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Williams throws a head kick that misses.
Wallace shoots in but Williams avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Wallace shoots in and bounces Williams off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Wallace slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Wallace throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Williams's waist but Williams gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Wallace off to one side.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Williams.

Williams throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Wallace.
Wallace tries to clinch but Williams is having none of it.
Williams plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Wallace tries to score a power double leg takedown but Williams sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Wallace somewhat.

Wallace drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Wallace jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Wallace gets to his feet - Williams follows without any prompting.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wallace uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Williams.

Wallace shoots for a double leg takedown but Williams sprawls well. He's pushed Wallace's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Wallace tries to close the distance and clinch but Williams swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Jericho Williams is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Wallace lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Wallace closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Williams has left one of his arms exposed and Wallace doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Williams screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

A less than humble William Wallace misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
