Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Corvo Damia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Justin Whipple (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Justin Whipple has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Corvo Damia's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Corvo Damia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Justin Whipple!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Elvis Blanc and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whipple dives in and grabs Damia's left leg, looking for a takedown. Damia pushes down on Whipple's head and hops out.
Damia throws a hook but Whipple avoids it easily.
Whipple throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Whipple tries to clinch but Damia moves out of range.
Whipple displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Damia.
Damia shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Whipple tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Damia manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Whipple shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Damia as he jumps to the side.
Whipple tries a head kick but it misses.
Whipple stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Corvo Damia. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Whipple throws a sloppy head kick and Damia moves out of range easily.
Damia avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Damia shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Whipple is trying to get back to full guard.

Damia frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Whipple is in a horrible position here. Damia smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Damia cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Damia looking to control but Whipple is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Damia has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Whipple's face.

Whipple can't escape the position.
Damia with shots to the head and body - Whipple looks very uncomfortable down there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Damia breaks from Whipple's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Whipple slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Damia thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Whipple's head.
Damia tries to pass the half guard into mount. Whipple knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Damia slips a nice elbow through Whipple's hands, connecting with Whipple's forehead.
Damia wants to pass to mount but Whipple is defending the position.
Damia is working hard here to advance position.
Damia passes the guard and advances to mount!

Whipple is squirming around, avoiding Damia's attempts to control the action.
Whipple tries to reverse the position but Damia maintains control.

Damia is landing with some decent strikes but Whipple is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Whipple is bucking up trying to escape but Damia cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Whipple is still in real trouble! Can Damia finish him?

Damia cracks Whipple with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Damia lands a big elbow - Whipple is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Whipple is forced to tap out!
