The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mccray throws a half hearted mid kick.
Piechnicki tries to clinch there but Mccray circles away.

Mccray drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Piechnicki is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Mccray is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Piechnicki is looking to stand back up but Mccray counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Piechnicki.
Mccray stops Piechnicki from getting back to his feet.

Mccray is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Mccray passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Piechnicki!

Let's hope that Mccray has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Piechnicki really wants to buck Mccray off and get back to his feet.
Mccray takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Bobby Mccray has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Mccray fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Piechnicki manages to avoid it.
Piechnicki tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mccray swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Piechnicki feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Piechnicki has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Mccray is proving hard to escape from.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mccray can do anything to dispel that myth.

Piechnicki's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Piechnicki gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Mccray .
Piechnicki has Mccray pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Mccray is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Piechnicki - that's hurt Mccray badly! Oh, another knee lands and Mccray is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Mccray doesn't seem to be complaining.
