Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Run Forcover (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Felipe Costa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Costa has chosen His Own Highlight Video as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Run Forcover!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Felipe Costa!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Radbod Blank and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Forcover lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Costa has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Forcover finds it's way round the side to connect with Costa's head.
Forcover slips under a jab.
Costa throws a big shot that misses.
Costa throws a body kick, spinning off balance

and Forcover counters by moving into the clinch.
Forcover prevents the takedown attempt.
Forcover gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Costa.
Costa wants a takedown but no success here.
Run Forcover has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Felipe Costa.
Costa has a couple of punches blocked by Forcover.
Forcover keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Costa's efforts to push away.
Forcover prevents a takedown attempt there.

Forcover comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.


It looks like Felipe Costa has been cut.

Forcover keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Costa's efforts to push away.

Run Forcover is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Costa bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Forcover's head.
Forcover takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

and Forcover counters with a body kick that stops Costa in his tracks momentarily.

Costa manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Forcover on his heels. He'll look to pass Forcover's guard now, I'm sure.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Forcover has control of Costa's left arm, preventing Costa from doing any damage.

Forcover is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Forcover has his hands clasped together around Costa's back. He's all about the action.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Costa lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Forcover has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Forcover and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Costa just misses with a punch to the body.
Costa is looking to chop away at Forcover's legs.
Forcover keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Costa changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Forcover fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Forcover turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

and Forcover makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Forcover keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Costa takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Forcover leaves Costa with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

That was a close second round but I would say that Run Forcover will probably get the nod.

Costa pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Forcover connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

and Forcover counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Forcover stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Forcover wants it to stay on the feet.
Forcover paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Forcover lunges at Costa with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Costa's hand.
Costa fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Run Forcover has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Felipe Costa.

Costa takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Forcover scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Run Forcover is winning the standup battle so far.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Costa.

Forcover is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

and Forcover counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Costa is lucky that one didn't land flush.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Costa is defended easily by Forcover.
Costa is still on wobbly legs! Can Forcover finish him?
Costa connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Costa seems to have recovered his senses.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Forcover fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Costa manages to avoid it.
Forcover defending well as Costa loads up on a big left hand.

Costa throws a leg kick but Forcover moved away.
Forcover takes one on the button.
Costa throws a leg kick but Forcover sees it coming and moves out of range.

Costa shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Costa trying to control the position from guard on top but Forcover is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Forcover is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Costa is working Forcover over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Forcover will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Costa drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Forcover manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Costa has Forcover in his guard.

Forcover stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Costa looks to score with a jab to the body but Forcover is just out of range.
Costa rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Forcover makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Run Forcover.
I think Forcover has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
