PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jackson Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michal Karpecny (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Michal Karpecny was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jackson Scott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michal Karpecny!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Bruno Lombardi and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scott takes one to the chin there.
Scott will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Scott shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Karpecny as he avoids it easily.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Scott enables Karpecny to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Scott manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Karpecny seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Karpecny thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Scott's head.

Karpecny is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Scott is looking to control Karpecny's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Scott avoid being mounted?
Karpecny tries to stand and escape but Scott is controlling the position.
Scott tries to roll over but Karpecny keeps him under control.
Scott throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Karpecny really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Scott. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Scott is trying to control but can't.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Scott.

Karpecny throws a sloppy head kick and Scott moves out of range easily.
Scott throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Karpecny's waist but Karpecny gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Scott off to one side.

Karpecny bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Scott is looking to reverse the position.
Karpecny wants to stand but Scott is controlling his arm.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Michal Karpecny will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Karpecny throws a sloppy head kick and Scott moves out of range easily.

Karpecny moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Scott shoots for a takedown but Karpecny saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Karpecny slaps away a takedown attempt from Scott, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Karpecny instigates a clinch.
Karpecny wants to break the clinch but can't.
Scott tries to break free but Karpecny pushes him back against the cage.

Scott decides to pull guard.

Scott has his foot on Karpecny's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Karpecny works his way back into a safe position though.

Karpecny wants to stand but Scott is controlling his posture from full guard.

Scott looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Scott working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Karpecny doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Karpecny manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Karpecny has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Scott is proving hard to escape from.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Michal Karpecny was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Scott pushes a forearm under Karpecny's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Karpecny is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
