Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sid Water (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donnie Yen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sid Water!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Donnie Yen!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yen lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Water circles away quickly and effectively.
Yen is looking to chop away at Water's legs.
Yen shoots for a takedown but Water saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Yen lands a body shot.
A head kick misses from Yen.
Yen misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Yen lands a jab-cross combination.
Water wants to clinch.
Yen throws a leg kick which misses Water's front leg but catches the back leg as Water tries to avoid it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Water takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Yen throws a body kick that misses.
Yen throws a sloppy head kick
and Water counters with an outside leg kick.
Water keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Water pushes Yen up against the cage in a clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Water manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Yen fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Sid Water has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Donnie Yen.
Water misses with an elbow over the top.
Yen is trying to break the clinch but Water has him pressed against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Yen's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Yen is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Water to keep the fight standing.
Water stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Water gets a warning from the ref for wasting time.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Sid Water.
Yen fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Water avoids it really well and circles away.
Yen thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Water if he has to take too many more of those.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Yen looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Yen throws the kick towards the body but Water avoids it.
Yen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Water as he jumps to the side.
Yen throws a head kick that misses.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Yen shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Yen throws a sloppy head kick

and Water counters by clinching up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Donnie Yen dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Water darts in and clinches Yen up against the cage.
Water misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Yen.

Yen ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Yen no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Water trying to stand up but can't free himself from Yen's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Yen pushes a forearm under Water's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Water is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Donnie Yen!
Donnie Yen is the new light heavyweight champion!
