Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Clyde Renato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Rodrigues (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rodrigues is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Joe Walsh - In the City. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodrigues closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Renato is trying to get an arm triangle but Rodrigues is defending well.
Renato wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rodrigues keeps working.
Renato sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Rodrigues is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Renato wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Rodrigues, who protects the arm well.
Rodrigues parries the strikes from Renato easily there. Renato is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Rodrigues to escape.
Rodrigues is looking to reverse the position.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Renato has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Renato takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Rodrigues scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Rodrigues's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Renato connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Rodrigues scrambles back to his feet.

Rodrigues tries to close the distance and clinch but Renato swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Rodrigues throws a hook to the side of Renato's head but Renato sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Renato takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Rodrigues uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Renato.
Renato throws a right and a left that both miss.
Rodrigues throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Renato shoots for a takedown but Rodrigues saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Rodrigues's corner calls for a 1-2. Rodrigues obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Renato shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rodrigues but Rodrigues pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Renato closes the distance and clinches up with Rodrigues, looking for a takedown. Renato pushes Rodrigues against the ropes but Rodrigues circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Rodrigues might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
