The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cyran swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Alvarez shoots for a double leg takedown but Cyran sprawls well. He's pushed Alvarez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
A left and a right from Alvarez both land. Nice combination.

Cyran closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Alvarez quickly recovers to half guard.
Cyran slips a nice elbow through Alvarez's hands, connecting with Alvarez's forehead.
Cyran drops an elbow to the side of Alvarez's head.
Ground and pound from Cyran.
Cyran seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Cyran lands a big elbow - Alvarez is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Cyran!
