Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mike Tyson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Patrick Cote!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cote tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Tyson moves into the clinch.
Cote has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Tyson avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Tyson tries to score a body lock takedown but Cote shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Tyson creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Tyson wants to get back to striking at distance but Cote won't allow it.
Cote tries to pull guard but Tyson forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Tyson stalls.
Tyson stops a takedown attempt from Cote.
Mike Tyson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Patrick Cote.
Cote is looking to take this one to the mat.
Cote has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Tyson after a bit of a struggle.

Cote tries to pull guard but Tyson won't allow it.

Tyson has had enough of the clinch but Cote keeps him there for the moment.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Tyson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Cote defends well.

Tyson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tyson tries to reverse the position but Cote maintains control.

Cote postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Tyson bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Cote and the fight is over!
