Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Roddy Piper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Auto Pilot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Piper kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Real Men Wear Skirts. Auto Pilot has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Piper misses with a body kick.
Pilot turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Piper throws a looping overhand right but Pilot ducks down to avoid it.
Piper bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Pilot's head.
Piper keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Piper is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Pilot.
Piper avoids the head kick by Pilot.
Auto Pilot seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Pilot fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Piper has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Pilot is pressed up against the cage. Piper has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Pilot down to the mat. Pilot avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Pilot throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Piper on the side of the head.

and Piper counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Pilot's guard now.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

and Pilot counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Some bone on bone action there as Piper checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Pilot's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Pilot had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Piper defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Piper slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Piper stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pilot swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Pilot working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Piper doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Piper manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

After the fight, Auto Pilot was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
